Website Basics

Step 1 – you need a domain name

A domain name is what one types in the browser such as: ‘www.yoursitename.com’.  The official name for this is called a ‘domain name’.

A domain name is not a website or a Web server.  A domain name provides a cross-reference between the website name and the exact location of the Web host.  A Web host/server is the computer where the web-pages reside on.

We help secure your domain name for your site.

Step 2 – you need a host for your website

Have you ever wondered when you type something like ‘www.amazon.com’, where theirearth.png computer is located?  The Internet is made up of a vast array of computers located around the United States and throughout the world.  It is not uncommon to have a website many states away, even though the company is local.

A good web host needs to be connected directly to the Internet.  These connections are located in major metropolitan areas.  Likewise, a web host is often located in one or many metropolitan areas.  Large web hosts provide your customers with quick access time to your website.  They also take care of backing up and securing your data.

Hosting comes with every site and has a low monthly cost of only $10/month!

Step 3 – Add content…text…images…

Having a website can also mean incorporating graphics, video, artwork and converting those items so they are ready for the Web. For most customers, Simple2Web is able to provide this support directly and include it in the basic package for their customers.  We’re also very sensitive of budgets.  Simple2Web will let you know what technologies may require greater expenses and which ones are reasonably easy to do.
Simple2Web creates your content and do small updates as part of your hosting.
